ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਘਦੇ ਜਜ਼ਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਹਿੱਕ ‘ਤੇ ਵਰ੍ਹਦੀ ਰਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਬਰੂਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਨੀਂਦ ‘ਚ ਜਗਾਇਆ, ਸ. ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਰਗੇ ਪੰਥ-ਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਗੋਲ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਾਂਭਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲਿਓਂ ‘ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅੱਤਵਾਦ’ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੈੜਾਂ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ‘ਸਟੇਟ’ ਦੇ ਜਾਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨੀ ਹਥਕੰਡਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਏਜੰਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਲੰਮੇ-ਚੌੜੇ ਚੱਕਰਵਿਊ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਧੜਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਲਮੀ ਜੰਗ ਲੜੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਚੋੜ ਇਸ ਅਹਿਮ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ‘ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ ਗਈ’ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਰੂ-ਬਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਹਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

To suppress the inner feelings of freedom within the Sikh community, Punjab's heart was continuously targeted by brutal forces. The fire of oppression awakened thousands of people from deep slumber, and Sikh youth, like S. Mahinder Singh, a devoted writer of the faith, carried the marks of blood from those fallen in the midst of gunfire. They sought the footprints of 'state terrorism' through their struggles. Mahinder Singh fearlessly waged a literary battle against the oppressive tactics and evil methods of the 'state' and its agents. Through his experiences of life’s struggles, he shared his insights with the community through this important document, his book "Neeh Rakhhi Gayi". This book should not only be a part of every Sikh household but also an essential piece of their mentality and consciousness.
