Parsa | ਪਰਸਾ

ਪਰਸਾ ਮਹਾਕਾਵਿਕ ਨਾਵਲ ਹੈ । ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਕੌਮ, ਕੌਮੀਅਤ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮੋੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਏ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੂਤਕਾਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਉਪਲਭਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ-ਸਹੀ ਅੰਗਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੋਵੇ । ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮੋੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੋਮੀ ਕੌਮ, ਕੌਮੀਅਤ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ-ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੂਤਕਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਹਿਰ-ਗੰਭੀਰ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੇਖਣ, ਜਾਣਨ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਸ ਸਕੇ । ਪਰਸੇ ਦਾ ਕਰਮ-ਖੇਤਰ ਮਾਲਵੇ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਭੂਖੰਡ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮੋੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਪਰਤ ਕੇ ਉਹਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਪਿਛਾਂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ । (ਇਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਉਤਨਾ ਹੀ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ) ਇਹੋ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ । ਪਰਸਾ ਇਸ ਪੱਖੋਂ ਵੀ ਮਹਾਕਾਵਿਕ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੇਰਵਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ । ਇਹ ਨਾਵਲ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਰਬਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਵਲਕਾਰ ਗੁਦਿਆਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੈ ।

"Parsa" is an epic novel. Such a work is possible when a nation reaches a turning point in its life, where it can accurately assess its historical and social achievements. At such a juncture, a community can look at its past with a deep and serious perspective to guide its future. The setting of "Parsa" is the region of Malwa, standing at this critical crossroads from which it can never turn back. (This is equally true for Punjab in the context of India.) This is why the creation of such a great work has been made possible. "Parsa" is also an epic in that it leaves no aspect of life unexplored. This novel is a significant achievement by our finest novelist, Guddial Singh.
