Kakhan Kaneya De Pul | ਕੱਖਾ ਕਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਲ

1977 ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਮ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਣਖੀ ਜੀ ਬਰਨਾਲੇ ਆ ਗਏ, ਕੱਚਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਰੋਡ, ਗਲੀ ਨੰਬਰ 11 ’ਚ ਬਣਾਏ ਇਸ ਮਕਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ। 1978 ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਅਣਖੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਨਾ-ਨਾਨੀ ਕੋਲ ਅਜਮੇਰ ਗਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਨਾਵਲ ਲਿਖਿਆ। ਮੇਰੇ ਯਾਦ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਇਕ ਕਾਂਡ ਰੋਜ਼ ਲਿਖਦੇ, ਉਹ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
‘ਕੱਖਾਂ ਕਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਲ’ ਨਾਵਲ ਇਕ ਰੋਮਾਂਟਿਕ ਨਜ਼ਮ ਵਾਂਗ ਲਿਖੀ ਗਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੇਜ਼ ਨਦੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਗਦੀ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੂਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

In 1977, Ram Sarup Ankhiji came to Barnala and, in the house built on Kacha College Road, Street Number 11, he wrote nearly fifty stories during the first five years. In 1978, when our mother Shobha Ankhiji had gone to Ajmer to visit my grandparents, he wrote this novel during that time. I remember, he would write all day long, completing one chapter each day, and when he would ask me, I would make and bring him tea.
The novel "Kakkhan Kaniyan De Pul" is a creation written like a romantic poem, flowing and sparkling like a swift river.
