ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਥਮਿਕ ਸਰੋਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਿੱਧਾਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ । ‘ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਟੈਕਸਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ, ਗੁਰੂਆਂ, ਭਗਤਾਂ, ਫ਼ਕੀਰਾਂ, ਭੱਟਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਰਚੇ ਦੈਵੀ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਕਾਵਿ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਹੈ । ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਐਸੇ ਬੋਲ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਮਹੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਝਣ ਲਈ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ । ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਸਿੱਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਚੇਚੀ ਵਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਨਾ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਭਵੀ ਵੇਰਵਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਥਾਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ।

The aim of this study on Gurmati psychology is to examine Gurmati principles based on primary sources. The verses of Sri Guru Granth Sahib are not a psychological text; rather, they are a collection of divine musical poetry composed by God’s devotees, Gurus, bhagats, fakirs, and bards. However, there are many verses within that hold clear psychological significance and can help in understanding the text properly according to Gurmati definitions and interpretations. The main objective of this book is to understand the psychological principles in Gurbani, recognize their higher essence, and clarify their experiential details as effectively as possible.
