ਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰਚਿਤ ਜੰਗਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਾ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੋਈ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਜੰਗ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਜੰਗ ਦੀ ਪਿੱਠਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਰਜਸ਼ੀਲ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਚਿਤਰਿਆ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਸੰਦਰਭ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਤਤਕਾਲੀਨ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਧੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਸੀ ਫੁੱਟ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸੰਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪ-ਬੀਤੀ ਸੀ । ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਫਾਰਸੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਵਿਚ ਛਪਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ । ਸਾਹਿਤ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਇਸ ਸਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਗੌਰਵ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਉਥੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ-ਚੇਤਨਾ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਦਾਦ ਦੇਣਗੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਰਾਣੀ ਜਿੰਦਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ।
