Parda Te Roshni | ਪਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ

ਰਾਮ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਣਖੀ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਨਾਵਲ ਇਹੀ ਸੀ ਜੋ ‘ਪਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ’ ਨਾਂ ਹੇਠ 1970 ਵਿੱਚ ਛਪਿਆ। ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਆਖਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਨਾਵਲ ਵਰਗੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂਗਾ, ਨਿੱਕੀਆਂ-ਨਿੱਕੀਆ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਲਿਖਣਾ, ਦਿਲ ’ਚ ਆਈ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਰਾਂਹੀ ਦੱਸ ਕੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਲੈਣਾ, ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸੀ। ਨਾਵਲ ਵਰਗੀ ਲੰਮੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਪਾਉਣਾ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਟਣਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
ਇਹੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੋਂ Autumn Art ਨੇ ਰੀਝ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਦਬ ਲਈ
ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ।

Ram Sarup Ankhiji's first novel was this one, published in 1970 under the title "Parda te Roshni." He himself used to say that he never even thought he could create a significant work like a novel; writing small stories, expressing what came to his heart through storytelling, was his world. Tackling a lengthy work like a novel and then organizing it was something he never even dreamed of.
This is the legacy that Autumn Art has passionately presented anew for Punjabi literature.
