Saukan | ਸੌਂਕਣ

‘ਸੌਕਣ’ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਂ, ਪੁੱਤ ਤੇ ਧੀ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਰਿਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਭੇਤ ਮੂਰਤੀਮਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ । ਲੇਖਕ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਟਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਇਕ ਘਟਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ । ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਭੂਤ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਕ ਚੇਲਾ ਵੀ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਫਾਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਗਾਰਗੀ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਾਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਤੇ ਵਾਰਤਾਲਾਪ ਧੁਖਦੇ ਤੇ ਬਲਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।

In "Saunkan," the physical relationships and psychological complexities between mother, son, and daughter are vividly depicted. The author was inspired to write this play based on an incident that occurred in his village. It features a disciple who reveals the truths of our misdeeds. Gargi presents the reality in such a raw form that the actions and dialogues of the characters appear both painful and intense.
