ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਾਈ, ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਹੈ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖੁਦ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਤੇ ਸੈਨਿਕ ਨੇਤਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਸਾਹਿੱਤਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪੂਰਨੇ ਪਾਏ, ਜੋ ਕਮਾਲ ਦੇ ਹਨ । ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨਾ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਤਾਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ 52 ਕਵੀ ਤੇ 36 ਖੁਸ਼ਨਵੀਸ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ । ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚ ਲੇਖਕ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਖਿੰਡੀ-ਪੁੰਡੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕਲਗ਼ੀਧਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਰਤਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਮੁੱਲੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ।
