Kuaari Teesi | ਕੁਆਰੀ ਟੀਸੀ

ਇਸ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਨਾਟਕ-ਕੁਆਰੀ ਟੀਸੀ, ਬੇਬੇ ਤੇ ਗਿਰਝਾਂ 1943-44 ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ 1948 ਵਿਚ । ‘ਕੁਆਰੀ ਟੀਸੀ’ ਕਾਵਿ-ਮਈ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਤਮਕ ਨਾਟਕਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਨਾਟਕ ਹੈ । ਇਸਦੀ ਨਾਇਕਾ ਚੰਦੀ ਇਕ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਰੂਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਰਨਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ । ‘ਬੇਬੇ’ ਨਾਟਕ ਦੋ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਦੂਖਾਂਤ ਹੈ । ਤੀਜਾ ਨਾਟਕ ‘ਗਿਰਝਾਂ’ ਬੰਗਾਲ ਦੇ 1942 ਦੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਕਾਲ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਝਾਕੀ ਹੈ । ‘ਬੰਬ ਕੇਸ’ ਇਕਾਂਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਉਤੇ ਇਕ ਹਸਾਉਣੀ ਚੋਟ ਹੈ । ‘ਮਹਿਮਾਨ’ ਦਿਖਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਆਉ-ਭਗਤ ਉਤੇ ਚੋਟ ਹੈ ।

This collection includes three plays: "Kuwari Tisi," "Bebe," and "Girjhaan," written between 1943 and 1944, with three others from 1948. "Kuwari Tisi" is the first symbolic play featuring the protagonist, Chandi, as a restless spirit yearning to break free and explore the vast world outside her confines. "Bebe" depicts the painful clash between two generations. The third play, "Girjhaan," offers a glimpse into the horrific times of Bengal in 1942. "Bomb Kess," a one-act play, humorously critiques the plight of refugees after the partition. "Mehmaan" critiques the superficiality of social interactions.
