ਗ਼ਦਰੀ ਬਾਬੇ ਕੋਈ ਆਮ ਜਿਹੇ ਰਾਜਸੀ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ । ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ-ਲਿਵ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੀ ਦੇਸ਼-ਭਗਤ ਸਨ । ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਬਚਨ ਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਸਗਲ-ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਵਵਾਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਡੁਲ੍ਹ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਆਧੁਨਿਕਵਾਦੀ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ‘ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਵਾਦੀ’ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਅਨਿਆਇ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਧਾਰਨਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪੈਮਾਨੇ ਤੇ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੱਧ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜਸੀ ਸੁਆਰਥ ਦੇ ਅੰਸ਼ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ । ਇਹ ਬਿਪਰ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵੰਨ-ਸੁਵੰਨੇ ਮਨ-ਲੁਭਾਉਣੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾਂ – ਭਗਵੇਂ, ਲਾਲ ਤਿਰੰਗੀ ਤੇ ਰੰਗ-ਬਿਰੰਗੇ ਲਿਬਾਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।Ghadri Babas were not just ordinary political operatives; they were patriots deeply embedded in a spiritual ethos. It represents a distorted understanding, manifesting in vibrant, colorful portrayals adorned with saffron and tricolor symbolism, but often lacking in genuine substance.
