ਸ਼ਿਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲੂਣਾ ਵਰਗੀ ਦੁਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਕਾਰੀ ਪਾਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਕ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੜ ਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ । ਮੱਧਾ-ਕਾਲ ਕਥਾ ਦਾ ਨਵੀਨ ਤੇ ਕਲਾਤਮਿਕ ਰੂਪਾਂਤਰਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਰੁਤਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਦੁਰਵਰਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਲੂਣਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।

Shiv Kumar has, through his poetry, reexamined the character of Loon, a figure of disgrace and ridicule, in a new light within the context of folk justice. By transforming the narrative of the Middle Ages into a contemporary and artistic form, he exposes the injustices faced by Loon and raises questions about the abuse of power and status, thereby giving the character a new depth.
