ਅਜੋਕਾ ਸਮਾਜ ਹੌਲੀ ਹੌਲੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ-ਵਿਆਪੀ ਸੋਚ, ਬਨਣ ਵੱਲ ਰੁਚਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਵਿਰੋਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਆਪਸੀ ਮੇਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਸਦਕਾ ਮਿਟ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਨਿਰਮੂਲ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਅੰਤਰ-ਭਾਸ਼ੀ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈੱਟ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਸਦਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਡੋਮੇਨ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੂਰ ਦੁਰਾਡੀਆਂ ਥਾਹਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਆਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਸੰਭਵ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਰੂਪ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵੀ ਹੁਣ ਬਹੁਦਿਸ਼ਾਵੀ, ਬਹੁ-ਸਥਾਨਿਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁ-ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਉਦੇਸ਼,ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੈਲੀਆਂ ਅਪਣਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਨਿਕਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਧ ਪਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਆਖਰ ਵਿਚਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਕੋ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਟੱਬਰ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਅ।

ਇਸੇ ਸੋਚ, ਚੋਣ, ਅਨੁਵਾਦ-ਕਲਾ, ਰੁਚੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ, ਪੰਜਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਖੋ ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ;ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਟੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਕਵੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਵੰਨਗੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਕਾਵਿ-ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਓਤਪੋਤ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਬਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ “ਨਵੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕਵਿਤਾ” ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸੰਕਲਨ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੀਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ-ਵਿਆਪੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਸਕਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

Today's society is gradually leaning towards a globally expansive mindset. Various conflicts among people and governments are being mitigated or eradicated through international interactions. With the help of inter-linguistic translation and the facilities provided by the internet, the expansion of social media in the public domain has made literary exchanges possible even in remote corners. As a result of all this, poetry is now adopting multi-directional, multi-local, and multi-cultural objectives, styles, and forms, even though the true strength of poetry often lies in its locality. Nonetheless, we all exist as part of one global family.

This collection, dedicated to this thought, choice, art of translation, interest, and purpose, features more than fifty representatives of poets from various languages and regions at the international level, enriched with vibrant poetic creations. It may very well be the first publication of "New World Poetry" in Punjabi, which will undoubtedly assist Punjabi readers in connecting with world poetry and global contexts.
