ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚ ਲੇਖਕ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ, ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਫਲ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਇਕ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਧਰਮ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਕਈ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਸਿਰਜ ਕੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਲੀ ਜਾਮਾ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਨਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜਾਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਧਰਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜਾਚ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਲੱਗ ਹੋ ਨਿਬੜਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰੰਤੂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਵਰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਅੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਾਰਥਕ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਭਾ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਰਗੀ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਪੁਨਰ-ਜਾਗ੍ਰਤੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੀਬਰ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਜਗਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

In this book, the author has made a successful effort to clarify that Sikhism is a distinct religion through an analysis of Sikh principles and by examining certain events from the life of Guru Nanak Sahib. Guru Nanak Sahib not only articulated the distinctiveness of Sikhism from Hinduism on a doctrinal level but also established various institutions to practically implement these principles, making Sikh life and practices distinctly separate from those of other religions.

However, in recent times, there has been a misguided attempt by a particular group to portray Sikhism as merely a part of Hinduism and to depict the Sikh Gurus as avatars. This book alerts the Sikh community to such external and internal challenges and emphasizes the urgent need for another revival movement similar to the Singh Sabha movement.
