ਭਾਈ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਰਾਭਾ (1896-1915) ਗ਼ਦਰ ਲਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਉੱਘਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਕ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਕੀਤੇ । ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਸੂਝ-ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਸਾਰਭੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਲਈ ਫੌਜੀ ਛਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਗ਼ਦਰ ਮਚਾਣ ਲਈ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਸੀ । ਉਹ ਦਲੇਰੀ, ਚੁਸਤੀ, ਸਿਆਣਪ, ਸਿਰੜ ਤੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਮੁਜੱਸਮਾ ਸੀ । ਜਿਸ ਦਲੇਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦਾ ਰੱਸਾ ਚੁੰਮਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ-ਨਾਇਕ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ । ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨੀ ਇਸ ਮਹਾਨ ਲੋਕ-ਨਾਇਕ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿਕ ਬਿੰਬ ਉਸਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਵੇਕਲਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪੂਰਵ ਜੀਵਨੀਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਮੁਲੰਕਣ ਵੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
